The 9th Annual Corcoran Country Daze will be held August 17th & 18th 2012 at the Corcoran Park & Ball Fields. Organized by the NW Area JC's, its a big undertaking for the group but well worth the effort according to Chad Robran, Chapter President and Event Coordinator, who said "Seeing all these families and kids outside enjoying themselves without spending a cent is what it's all about." Record attendance was estimated at last year's event for both Friday night's Rocket Club concert at the Stanchion Bar and Saturday's free family day. We thank all the sponsors and volunteers who help to make it all possible. The 2011 carshow results were: 1st place- Randy Hatcher of Loretto with his '71 Plymouth Duster, 2nd place- Lyndon Minks of Corcoran with his '71 Dodge Challenger (which also won the People's Choice) and 3rd place- Darven Vollrath of Hanover with his '65 Chevy SS. The softball 2011 tournament results were: 1st place- Get Auto, 2nd place- NW JC's and 3rd place- Bumble Town. Thanks to all those who participated in our blood drive last year. "...we collected 21 units which is almost double what we collected in 2010. Because blood can be separated into 3 components (Red cells, Plasma and Platelets) those 21 units can be used to save up to 63 lives. MBC is partners with MG Hospital and HCMC so the donors at Country Daze were truly helping their community," said Brian Googins of Memorial Blood Centers. Proceeds from the event go back to the community through the donations, scholarships and many events the NW Area JC's (formerly the Corcoran Area JC's) put on each year. Corcoran Country Daze is held rain or shine under the big tent at the Corcoran Park & Ball Fields. New this year, evening concerts were held at the Stanchion Bar...
